John Lee Hooker ha sviluppato un particolare stile blues che è diventato il suo marchio di fabbrica. Anche se legato alla tradizione del Delta blues, il suo approccio metricamente libero e il suo suono unico hanno fatto di Hooker un punto di riferimento del Detroit blues. Spesso definito "King of the Boogie", il particolare approccio ritmico di Hooker alla chitarra è diventato parte integrante della musica blues. Questo vinile ripropone il suo storico album House of the blues del 1959 che riunisce registrazioni di Hooker risalenti ai primi anni Cinquanta. Come bonus sono state aggiunte due tracce registrate da Hooker nello stesso periodo.
