"Songs For A Tailor” è stato il primo progetto solista di Jack Bruce
pubblicato dopo lo scioglimento dei Cream nel novembre 1968.
Desideroso di rendere il suo album di debutto da solista nettamente
diverso dalla musica che aveva registrato con i Cream, presentava
musica che stilisticamente attingeva a influenze jazz, folk, classiche e
rock. Alle sessioni di registrazione presso i Morgan Studios di Londra si
unirono a Jack e al produttore Felix Pappalardi alcuni dei migliori
musicisti britannici come Chris Spedding, Jon Hiseman, Dick
Heckstall-Smith, John Marshall, Art Themen e Henry Lowther.
