I Metallica proseguono con la pubblicazione delle ristampe del loro catalogo: l’ultima uscita è Load, album 5 volte disco di platino. Prodotto da Bob Rock, Load è il seguito di Metallica, il disco più venduto dell’era SoundScan. Contiene brani iconici come "Until It Sleeps", "Hero of the Day" e "King Nothing", e – per la prima volta in assoluto – la versione integrale e mai editata di "The Outlaw Torn", originariamente accorciata a causa di limiti tecnici di produzione.
Il disco è stato rimasterizzato da Reuben Cohen presso Lurssen Mastering con la supervisione del produttore esecutivo Greg Fidelman.
L’edizione Expanded in 3 CD include 41 tracce: l’album rimasterizzato, demo inediti, rough mix e registrazioni live tratte dal tour mondiale della band.
