Lo scorso Aprile The Who si sono esibiti alla Royal Albert Hall di Londra riproponendo interamente per la prima volta dal vivo la loro rock opera Tommy. Già in passato la band aveva suonato Tommy, tralasciando però qualche traccia dellalbum; invece per questa occasione speciale, lo show per raccogliere fondi per il Teenage Cancer Trust, la band ha suonato tutte le canzoni dellalbum aggiungendo disegni animati sul maxischermo della RAH ed una speciale coreografia di luci per narrare la storia del disco. Al termine del set dedicato a Tommy, The Who hanno suonato alcuni dei loro hit più famosi confermando ulteriormente il loro valore assoluto di live band.Tommy Live At The Royal Albert Hall è stato filmato in alta definizione e viene pubblicato in DVD, Blu-ray, 2CD e 3LP: oltre due ore e venti minuti di musica.Bonus: Scene dal backstage e i video animati di due delle canzoni con la live performance della band: The Acid Queen e Pinball Wizard.Line-Up: Roger Daltrey (voce); Pete Townshend (chitarra e voce); Simon Townshend (chitarra e voce); Zak Starkey (batteria); Jon Button (basso); Frank Simes (tastiere); Loren Gold (tastiere); John Corey (tastiere).
