Emmanuelle Haïm è riconosciuta a livello mondiale come direttore dorchestra e raffinata interprete fra i migliori per il repertorio Barocco. Grazie al suo approccio fresco ed espressivo, è stata chiamata a dirigere la City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, la Scottish Chamber Orchestra, la Deutsche Sinfonie-Orchester di Berlino, la Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra e i Berliner Philharmoniker. Con lensemble da lei fondato, Le Concert dAstrée, si è guadagnata il plauso di pubblico e critica insieme a diversi premi internazionali, fra cui Victoires de la Musique Classique, ECHO Klassik, Gramophone Awards e nomination ai Grammy. Per questa incisione in lingua inglese del capolavoro di Handel, il Messiah, lHaïm si avvale di orchestra e coro de Le Concert dAstrée, insieme a quattro straordinari cantanti inglesi  Lucy Crowe, Tim Mead, Andrew Staples e Christopher Purves. Questo album è destinato a diventare un punto di riferimento per questa composizione sacra fra le più celebri ed eseguite al mondo.
