Nel 1959 il grande sassofonista tenore Ben Webster era un venerabile veterano: già da decenni solista nelle più importanti orchestre (quelle di Fletcher Henderson, Bennie Moten, Count Basie e soprattutto di Duke Ellington) si incontrava con un più giovane gigante (del pianoforte): Oscar Peterson. La duttilità straordinaria di questultimo e del suo trio (completato dal fido Ray Brown al contrabbasso e da Ed Thighpen alla batteria) contribuì ad una delle migliori incisioni delletichetta Verve.
